Wi-Roni Project
There is a startling quantity of multimedia content on the Internet, which is accessible solely to people who have access, physical and/or conceptual, to digital and information technology.
The project Wi-roni aims to design innovative solutions to reduce the digital divide and to offer selected Web content to people who do not have the skills or the conceptual means to access the internet.
Wi-roni is a projected set of products – urban furniture that will be installed in public spaces in Monteroni d’Arbia, a tiny village in the province of Siena (Italy).
The strategy for facing the two aforementioned challenges in this socio-technical context is based on two principles:
i) Progressive introduction of devices and content;
ii) Progressive introduction of interaction modalities.
